Māui Inc. is a fledgling, Ahipara based, Aquaculture business. We have developed (with patent pending) a unique, environmentally sensitive technology, to capture premium wild caught Mussel Spat. Unique to Te Hiku, in fact to Aotearoa, this first of its kind marine farm is located off the coast of Te Oneroa-a-Tōhē, in a place we call Te Māra a Whāro.

Māui Inc.’s Mussel Spat catching farm is innovative, it’s trail blazing in terms of its design, pooling the best of modern technology with our traditional understanding and intergenerational knowledge of both Tangaroa and Papatūānuku.

This approach continues to put our Taiao and all it's finery at the heart of our thinking and design. Our collection methods have very low impact to the environment, which in turn adds to the ocean’s wellness.

Māui Inc.’s vision is to add value to the Aquaculture Industry in Te Hiku, for the benefit of whānau, hapū and Iwi, and the broader local community. Māui Inc. is a new enterprise that will positively impact the flow-on benefits in an end-to-end value chain.
